Hockenheimring Germany

Huge thanks to my buddy Florian for taking me along on a ride to Hockenheimring where he was due to volunteer over the weekend for ADAC GT series, Euro F4 and German TCR series races.

Never in a million years did I think I would wind up at the track on this trip. And there I was running around the paddock and pit lane taking pictures of race cars like a child. It was fantastic. Many of the ADAC GT teams I’m quite familiar with having seen them race around the world both here in the US, in Belgium, Australia, etc. Germany of course is their home and it was nice to see the operation at this amazing facility. Hockenheimring actually hosted the German round of F1 in 2019 so it’s quite a track. And I was happy to visit it even if just for about an hour.

I don’t know what it is but Germans seem to be really into their “Ring Taxi’s” as you can always find one at any track you go to. I guess if you’re rich enough you can get a ride around the circuit, at full speed. Yeehaw!

Florian had to set up his camping spot for the weekend and we rushed out of there for an game in town he was attending. I had to catch a train back to Stuttgart but as it turns out the soonest option was completely sold out on the DB fast train, it gave me enough time to go walk around Hockenheim and grab some quick dinner. Lovely place. Seeing how close the track is to town I think I will definitely return to this facility to marshal in the future.
